Ananda Bhavan

I have been to all branches of Ananda Bhavan Restaurant but the branch I like most is located at Syed Alwi Road. Why? Well, I get the impression that food selection is the widest in this branch. There are different types of thosai, chaat, indian breads, set meals, desserts etc. So many to choose from yet so little stomach space.
It is 24 hours and that means if I finish work late or feel peckish in the middle of the night (which is hardly), I can come here good quality hearty meal.
The work-flow of the restaurant is efficient and smooth. Then again, so are the rest of the branches.
Do take note that drinks may be collected at the chaat counter and you can collect it first before your queue number is called to collect your food, or after you finish your food.

Another interesting feature is the indian man who stands outside the restaurant. He prepares fresh Jalebi and wraps betel nut leaves on demand. It is intriguing to watch him prepare all those effortlessly.

Those of you who love Jalebi, you must try one of these. Freshly made Jalebi tastes so different from those sitting on the shelf for hours. It tastes wonderful. You need to try it yourself to understand what I mean.

After a hearty meal and a Jalebi, it is time to take a walk in Mustafa, which is located next door, and burn some calories shopping.
