Herbs & Spices

I love indian food and it is good to have an indian restaurant that is nearby home. Herbs & Spices is located along Upper Thomson Road, sandwiched between Barnsbury and Miss Clarity Cafe. I have been here at least five times with family and friends. This Euradian restaurant serves indian, italian and local food. I have tried the home-made pasta, the local seafood kway teow soup but I still prefer the indian food.

One of the popular dishes is Angoli Fish Head Curry. Not too spicy and well tolerated by those whose stomach cannot take much chilli. Plenty of okra and eggplant to accompany the fresh meaty fish head. The gravy has a good balance of spice but I will remember to request for more tamarind as I like more tangy fish head curry.

The chicken masala is another appetizing dish. Tender pieces of chicken cooked in moderately spicy masala spices. The palak paneer is a good dish to balance the spiciness of this chicken masala.

One of my favourite dish is fried fish roe. Small chunks of fish roe, coated with some spices and then, simply fried till crispy on the outside and yet still soft on the inside. Great beer food.

Oh, talking about beer, Herbs & Spices has 1-for-1 bottled Erdinger the whole day. Their definition of happy hour, "If you are happy, it's happy hour." Maybe all restaurants should have this kind of happy hour.
